Hiro Hangout: a pixel island to explore together
Hiro Hangout is a free online world you play in your browser. You join a server with other players, pick a blob and its colour, and explore five islands and the caves under them. Say hi with chat bubbles and emotes, race to the igloo, slide across the frozen pond, bounce off giant mushrooms, and ride the minecart over the lava.
How to play
- Move: WASD or the arrow keys. On a phone, drag anywhere on the screen.
- Jump: Space, or the Jump button.
- Chat: Enter, or the Chat button for quick friendly lines. Emotes are on keys 1 to 8.
- Explore: the Tundra is north, the Desert east, the Swamp south and the Taiga woods west. Walk into a cave mouth to go underground.
- Collect: 28 gems and 7 chests are hidden around. They unlock new blob colours.
Safe chat for kids
Every message is checked on our server before anyone sees it. Chat blocks names, phone numbers, emails, links, ages, schools, places and other apps, as well as rude words. Players get made-up names, and there are no friend lists or private messages. Tap anyone to hide their chat or report them; reports are read by a person at Hiro.
